Terms of Service
Last updated April 25, 2026
By using iowe — the app or this site — you agree to these terms. They're written to be read, not buried.
What iowe does
iowe splits receipts. One person scans, we extract the items using AI, and a link lets everyone claim what they had. iowe does the math. It doesn't move money.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 13 to create an account. Guests who open a claim link don't need an account, but these terms still apply to them.
Your account
You're responsible for your account and anything that happens under it. If you think it's been compromised, email support@iowe.app right away.
What you can't do
Use iowe for real receipts and real people. Don't submit fake or fabricated receipts, try to deceive other users, attempt to scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or use iowe for anything illegal. Accounts that break these rules may be suspended without notice.
Your content
The receipts and data you upload are yours. You give us permission to store and process them to run the service. We don't claim ownership and we don't use your data to train AI models without your consent.
AI accuracy
Extraction is AI-powered and not perfect. Blurry photos, unusual formats, and handwriting can cause errors. Check the items before sharing a link. We're not liable for inaccuracies in extracted data.
Availability
iowe is provided as-is. We don't guarantee uptime or error-free operation. We'll do our best — we care about this product.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, iowe isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $10 or what you've paid us in the past 12 months.
EU and EEA users retain all rights under applicable consumer protection law that can't be waived by contract.
Changes
We may update these terms. For anything material, we'll give you notice before it takes effect. Continued use means you've accepted the update.
Governing law
These terms are governed by US law. EU and EEA users keep all rights granted by European consumer and data protection law.
